Futakoi Alternative. Aged Anime 2005 - Lots of Twins and Craziness

Futakoi is a light novel, visual novel, and anime series.  It takes place in the charming town of Futakoi where twins seem to sprout like dandelions after rain.  The star is Nozomu Futami, a young lad who returns to his hometown and he gets caught up in twins and other adventures.

Now that I have that out of the way, Futakoi Alternative takes place in a different town with a different protagonist, but with many other characters (twins included, crossing over).  It is basically an "alternative" version, not a sequel, that is very different from the original. The show ran for 13 episodes in the spring of 2005.

The main character is Rentaro Futaba, the inheritor of the family detective agency, trying to keep things running smoothly after his old man kicks the bucket. One day, out of the blue, in walks a pair of twins—Sara and Soju—looking for a place to crash. They end up becoming Rentaro's secretaries, adding a double dose of trouble and charm to his life.

Futakoi Alternative isn't your typical anime—it's like a wild mashup of romance, action, sci-fi, and comedy. It's like trying to wrangle cats into a genre! But underneath all the genre-hopping, it's really a love story at its core. At first, it's all fun and games, with plenty of laughs and light-hearted moments. But as the series rolls on, things get serious. We're talking love triangles, Yakuza run-ins, cults, and more coming out of the woodwork. Of course, Rentaro find himself in the middle of it all!

Rentaro is like THE MAGNET for twins. Seriously, every twin girl in the vicinity seems to have a thing for him. And then you've got Sara, the lively and bossy twin, and Sōju, her quieter, cooking whiz of a sister. Both of them have their eyes set on Rentarō, making things even more complicated.  By the end, hearts are warmed, mysteries are solved, and the chaotic charm of twins reigns supreme. The show is a ride filled with laughs, love, and a whole lot of twin-tastic and bizarre adventure. If that appeals then this show might be worth a watch.

I'm only okay with this show myself and I'm talking about it as I own the figures of Sara and Soju.  This was a figure set from Wave with an interesting concept where you could change the background scene in the box behind the figures.  I grabbed it years ago on deep sale after the first anime market crash then.  The figure are about 1/10 scale in size and are simply made.  There isn't much that is complex about the paint jobs, the clothing, etc., but I do like the fact they can be set up as presenting you a cup of tea or ready to go with MAC-10 sub-machine guns.
