Special Anime and Gaming Exhibits in Tokyo From July to October 2026

 

1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 20th Anniversary "SOS Exhibition"

Dates: August 10, 2026 – August 30, 2026
Venue: Sunshine City Exhibition Hall D, Ikebukuro, Tokyo 
Description: A 20th-anniversary retrospective celebrating the iconic SOS Brigade. The exhibition is divided into two parts: "The Reminiscence of Haruhi Suzumiya" (production materials, scripts, and photo spots recreating the SOS Brigade clubroom) and "The Phenomenon of Haruhi Suzumiya" (exploring the cultural impact of the series). 

2. Solo Leveling Exhibition

Dates: July 17, 2026 – September 27, 2026
Venue: Tokyu Plaza Shibuya (4F Special Space / Shibuya Fukuras), Tokyo
Description: Spanning over 1,320 square meters, this immersive walkthrough experience drops fans right into Sung Jin-Woo’s shoes. It features full-scale set reconstructions, including the stone statues of the Double Dungeon, Kaltenon Temple, and scenes from the Jeju Island Raid. 

3. Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World 10th Anniversary Exhibition

Dates: September 12, 2026 – October 4, 2026 
Venue: Shibuya BEAM Gallery (4F Shibuya BEAM), Tokyo
Description: A 10th-anniversary celebration highlighting key moments, artwork, and production archives across all four seasons of the anime.

4. EXHIBITION OF SILENT HILL 2

Dates: July 24, 2026 – Early Fall 2026
Venue: Ikebukuro PARCO, Tokyo
Description: Produced by PARCO GAMES in collaboration with KONAMI following the acclaimed remake. It uses spatial art, light, and ambient sound to immerse visitors in the psychological horror atmosphere of Silent Hill.

5. BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity Special Exhibition

Dates: May 30, 2026 – August 16, 2026
Venue: Anime Tokyo Station (2F), Ikebukuro, Tokyo
Description: Dedicated to the Thousand-Year Blood War anime arc, displaying key production frames, original key visuals, and behind-the-scenes material.

6. Manga Oshi no Ko Exhibition -Hoshi no Kiseki-

Dates: July 22, 2026 – August 11, 2026
Venue: Matsuya Ginza 8F Event Square, Tokyo
Description: A major dedicated exhibition following the storyline and artwork of the acclaimed Oshi no Ko series by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. It displays original manga panels, behind-the-scenes creation materials, and special illustration production notes.

7. The Creative Origins of Mamoru Hosoda

Dates: July 2026 – August 31, 2026
Venue: Creative Museum Tokyo, Kyobashi, Tokyo
Description: The largest exhibition ever dedicated to acclaimed animation director Mamoru Hosoda, marking the 20th anniversary of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It features over 300 production assets, including storyboards, character designs, and early 8mm student films.

8. Tokyo Game Show 2026 (30th Anniversary)

Dates: September 17 – 21, 2026 (Public Days: September 19 – 21)

Description: One of the world’s largest gaming expos, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026 with an extended 5-day format. Features hands-on play demos of unreleased titles, hardware showcases, and developer stages.

9. Summer Comic Market 108 (Comiket 108)

Description: The world's largest self-published doujinshi and fan-art convention, featuring thousands of independent creators, anime studios, and official publisher booths.
