Tokyo Intro - New 2024 Third Edition Is In Print

I finished updating the 3rd edition of Tokyo Intro in June of 2024 with the latest information I could find.  I've always enjoyed planning for my Tokyo trips and this work benefits both readers and myself.  While many things stay the same in Tokyo, attractions constantly change and there are many new experiences to have now.  For the 3rd edition, there is now a trade paperback version available along with an ebook version.  It is exciting to have the book in print form as it is a tangible form of my work that can be held in my hand!

The 2024 edition is available as a paperback for the first time!

The book is now available on Amazon Canada, USA, and other English markets.

Learn about Japanese food, key experiences, sights to see, districts to visit, anime, and why the country’s pop culture is so popular worldwide. Japan has a rich culture and history and is still creating more of it in the 21st century.

  1. Heya. I couldn't find a better way of trying to contact you, so here's hoping this works.

I am interested in playing the full version of Quenzar's Caverns. I have looked around, but it looks like only the shareware edition can be found in the dusty and fading corners of the internet. Essentially, it is pretty likely that the registered game could be lost media.

So I figured the best and last chance to get the complete game is to ask if you have it, and are willing to share it.

I am using WineDVM to emulate the game's 16-bit Windows environment, which allows me to play the game out of the box. This is also what I did with Castle of the Winds and Stars!, if you happen to recall those games of yore. Hopefully, this small bit of nostalgia will be fulfilled in the future.

    1. Yup. You're effort at communication isn't wasted. I've posted the registration and tip sheet on my writer's blog. https://peterlok.blogspot.com/2024/10/quenzars-caverns-tip-sheet-official.html

  2. Thank you. I got a few rounds of the game finished. Should be a good way to pass some time when drinking coffee, methinks.

Would it be alright to distribute the registered version? I would like to put it up on the Internet Archive.

    1. There really isn't a registered version and it already is up on the Internet Archive. You need to configure it to run with the code in the shortcut. They can get it on the blog.

    2. Ah, my idea was to distribute the game with a .bat that runs the game through the WineDVM emulator while applying the diamondgem argument, so that anyone can just extract the archive and play without having to do any tinkering. Also, I transcribed your tipsheet into a .txt version, so it could be bundled.

Until yesterday, information about registering the game didn't exist - and the versions of the game on IA don't have those details, let alone that you are alive and blogging.

The way I figure, making the game playable out of the box and a dedicated IA page with the new information would help preserve the game.

Here is a link for the proposed distribution if you want to try it out.
