Shinjuku Yasukuni Dori - Tokyo Intro: Experience #35 of 55

This is a busy street on the north side of Shinjuku Station, with the exciting part on the east side of the station by Kabukicho.  The street lights up colorfully at night and is full of people.  When exploring this street, you can also walk through Kabukicho on the north side to see all of the nightlife there.  Kabukicho has the Robot Restaurant, the Samurai Museum, and the giant Godzilla head as popular attractions.  Before you visit any bars, make sure you do some research, and beware of host / hostess bars, and expensive cover charges.

Yasukuni Dori was the street featured at the beginning of the movie Lost in Translation (see clip). This street becomes less busy the further east you get from the station and transitions into more of a residential area after about a kilometre.  Many hotels are in this area and it does bustle with activity.
